  • 1. How can I apply for the PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival?

    Go to www.philpop.com.ph and click "Apply Now". The instructions and application form will be available there.

  • 2. What’s the difference between a sponsored fellow and a paying fellow?

    A sponsored fellow is a fellow of the PhilPop Himig Handog Program who has access to all the DigiCamp Sessions and online consultations with the PhilPop Coaches for free. An applicant applying as a sponsored fellow will be required to audition and only 25 Slots will be made available:


    5 slots for songwriters from Mindanao

    5 slots for songwriters from Visayas

    5 slots for songwriters from Luzon

    5 slots for songwriters from Metro Manila

    5 slots for Filipino songwriters living abroad


    A paying fellow is a fellow of the PhilPop Himig Handog Program who has access to all  DigiCamp Sessions except that he/she will be required to pay a tuition fee of PHP 5,000.00 if accepted. 30 Slots available for the Paying Fellow Program

  • 3. Who can apply for the PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival?

    Any Filipino citizen aged 16 or above with basic songwriting and music skills can apply for the Digicamp.

  • 4. What device should I use to apply for the PhilPop Himig Handog Songwriting Festival?

    If possible, use a computer to apply for the program. However, using a cellular phone or tablet can work.

  • 5. How many songs can I submit?

    You can submit up to two songs. Be sure to submit the lyrics for both songs.

  • 6. What documents should I prepare for submission?

    Be prepared to provide proof of citizenship such as a license, birth certificate, passport, and a document that shows your billing address.

  • 7. Are my two songs already my submissions to the contest?

    No. Your entries are only meant for the DigiCamp. You will have to create your contest entry during the DigiCamp Program.

  • 8. Is there a preferred genre for the submitted songs?

    There is no preferred genre. Feel free to submit your best songs.

  • 9. Can I submit a song that is not in Tagalog or English?

    Yes you can. Just make sure to provide either a tagalog or English translation of the lyrics in the application form.

  • 10. If I am an Overseas songwriter, how can I apply?

    You can apply normally, but be sure to provide proof that you are a Filipino through your submitted documents.

  • 11. What file type should I use to submit my songs?

    As much as possible, submit an audio file for the songs. However, if this is not possible, you may submit a video, but take note that there is a 100 MB limit on the file.

  • 12. Is there a time limit on the songs submitted?
